Thats the way this stuff always work. My gf bought me another Hero2 HD this past Aug. for my birthday but now I'll have to buy the 3. lol.

It doesn't look to be enough of an upgrade to really buy it if you already have a hero 2.

You're probably right but I'm the type that if there is a newer version, I must have it. I'm just going to return mine and swap it out for the 3 anyways. A friend of mine works at Best Buy where she bought is so he's doing it for me.

The new GoPro Hero3 black edition is MSRP $399.  They haven't even shipped yet and it is only pre-orders at this point.  I'm expecting a shipment of cameras by end of the month of the black edition cameras.  If you need something else let me know and I can order it.

The new Hero3 is actually a lot better.  4K resolution (4x more than 1080P), higher burst rate 30fps at high resolution, built in Wi-Fi so you can watch it live in your smart phone! (Hero2 needs a Wi-Fi bac pac), better low light, better sound, less distortion due to new improved lens and lots more.  It is the smallest professional quality film camera you can buy on the market.
