Next build 88 fc vert
« on: October 01, 2014, 12:38:21 PM »
I have never done a build thread before and this is my second rx7 build. The first one was my 86 fc and it turned out great.
This one is a 88 fc vert that eventually will be the wifes car.
I am a working stiff and so tight I squeak when I walk so this build will be done with mostly what I have on hand.
350 chevy, T5 trans.
The car has power steering that I will retain.
I will post more pics as the work progresses but I have a day job so it will be slow going.
I have a few questions to start off with.
Can I use a chevy power steering pump with the mazda rack or do I have to use the mazda pump?
Can I use the mazda clutch master with the chevy slave?[attachimg=1][attachimg=2][attachimg=3]

I used the mazda pump on my first FC build. Get the grannys PS bracket and be careful reinstalling the threaded lines back in the rack. I also used the Mazda clutch MC to feed a willwood slave (pull) style. Worked fine with a stock clutch, but I'd step it up if go more aggressive.
