Ok he's going to get his brother to get me a pic of it will a v6 camaro t5 work with a 350?
If so where do I find the bell housing?
And looking on the Internet all the t5's I've found are with camaro v6's or mustang v8's will either work with a bell housing for a 350?
I searched before I asked this question couldn't find anything maybe it's cuz tapatalk?

Newer Buick T5 V6 main cases are different than older GM V8 T5 main cases so, you won't be able to swap bellhousings.

The v8 mustang one will work ont it? Just get the right bell housing I saw ones on eBay that said must and to v8 SBC.
Will any t-56 work or only specific years like the t5?

if you use the earlier t-56 out of the lt1 cars like a camaro or firebird (93-97) then it will work with the sbc i believe, however if you get a tranny from a ls motor'd car then you would have to swap the input shaft.  best way to get a t-5 is to get one from a camaro v8, most chevy v6 motors are 60* v6's (except the 4.3) so the bellhousings wont work, also i have heard that the ford trannys you cannot swap bellhousings either.  im lookin to do a similar swap but ill prolly try to find a v8 t-5 because its less headaches to bolt it up and i know it will work the first time.

pre 93 t5 v6 trans cases are the same as the v8 ones. Both the v8 and pre 93 v6 will bolt to any sbc or bbc bellhousing. the 82-92 v8 bellhousing is rotated ~15* ccw to put the shifter in the same location as a super t10 4speed, when monted on a standard bell.  Iirc the 93+ v6 trans has ford bolt patern and something about the input shaft length changing and spline count.  There are sbc to ford trans conversion bellhousings but most of the ford trans first gear ratio is 3.35 chev is 2.95 'V8'  v6 camaro is usually 4.01. I did put a 350/v6t5 in a 87rx last year, used a standard 10.5 bellhousing, transadapt 10.5 clutch disk(v6 input splines are smaller than v8(82-92), 7/8 pull slave, 3/4 master, cut down release fork,  and had to offset the shifter handle to the rear ~3". It is a bolt in

this is the offset shifter handle on a stock t5 base

im sorry, i should have clarified, i meant the bell housing from a v6 wont bolt to the v8 motor, i knew up until a certain time that you could swap bell housings, however i had not heard that about a ford t5, good to know though, i have a buddy with a 5.0 swap that is using a 2.3 t5 tranny, he could use something stronger.

So i sorda skimmed through this...but it seems if you are trying to do this cheap as possible and you are a ford guy.  5.0 ford engines are a dime a dozen and probably the cheapest v8 out there, so why not start there?
