you may want to grab some of this....

it started back in 2006 when i bought my first fc. i was on a local site (ohiodrifting) and saw a nice 86 gxl for sale about 2.5 hours away from me... i knew nothing of the rotary engine, but loved the way the car look. so i went bought it, and learned many lessons from it. the tank had no gas in it, found out why when i filled it that gas poured out. po had no clue? but did great on a 2.5 hour drive home.. than i learned about flooding, and than it wouldnt pass emissions, so i drove it 60 days, got really pissed with it, sold it.
fast forward to 2012 i bought another fc convertible, car was a pile, but could drop the top... i started playing around with it, it was too slow, too rusty, ended up buying a t2, than another convertible shell that was cleaner... parted the t2/rusty vert out made one car with the 2 into the cleaner shell. drove it for a few months. than got mad with that shell because of rust that was hidden behind bondo that started falling off, and found a Rust free clean shell 9 hours away from me. i than completely stripped both of those shells, took all the nice stuff, sold off the rest and built my new vert.
I completely disassembled the shell, cleaned/painted and replaced anything that was not up to par just so i wouldnt touch it again for a long time... the floor pans got the deadner chipped off, painted single stage red and sprayed with lizard skin sound deadner.. didnt wanna use dynomat or whatever cuz it seems like id just be making it easier for the pans to rust again.. thats why i took out the factory deadner to begin with.... the underside was also scrubbed with degreaser/soap and resprayed with undercoating.... the body still could use a respray, but i really dont mind the few imperfections it has... (it doesnt bug me enough to spend 3k haha)
here are a few pictures of it starting with when me and my buddy got it it, to the point of being built with the rotary motor (ill skip all that cuz no one wants to hear about a rotary...)
hello!!!!!

and so it began

cleaning/painting

cleaning/repainting suspension/subframes

painted it up all pretty

almost done (or so i thought)

and this summers t2 vert

and about a month ago i started getting frustrated... between smoking my neighborhood out if it started. and other problems i had... i wasnt happy. i spent alot of time and what not but the rotary motor was just not doing it for me... dont get me wrong the ol brap brap puts a smile on my face, but being able to turn the key and it start will make me happier. not having to pull fuses, or install switches to hope itll start and better yet being able to go to a parts store and get parts or drive down to summit and have endless possibilities will make it worth it to me...
soooo thats where im at, this week i completely stripped the drivetrain out of my car and alot of it has already sold, so hopefully start in january sourcing parts once most everything rotary related is gone, or sooner if i can find stuff, im hoping for the prechristmas crackhead deals, but well see....
