Perhaps I underestimated value, but certainly no offers.  If I don't get at least 5k I definately keep it.  I am just getting the urge to build something else, and I don't have $ or garage space to keep it.

I also would like to add the vertical link mounting ear on subframe has been strengthened with the "new" plates from Ronin.  The "mighty" stick four cylinder ripped this off in 3 launches on slicks :)

Wes - just curious, did you have this car registered/inspected in NC?

Still is.  Pre 96 is safety only.

Exploring selling my 86 GXL.  Car currently has a Ford 2.3L Turbo engine and T5 transmission.  350rwhp on safe pump gas tune.  EFR 6758 turbo.  Car has been together 10 years.
Car has Ronin 8.8 Explorer Swap.  AL driveshaft and Strange ubolt 3150 yoke. 3.73 gear.
Tokiko 5 Ways all the way around, and Eibach Springs.  Manual steering rack.
Good "survivor" paint.
Would sell for $3000 as roller.  Already has upgraded driveline, ready for your engine.  Add $2000 for running car with everything.

When inspecting car this afternoon, I found the vertical subframe link mounting ears torn.  I had already been sent the reinforcement ears, guess they have to go on now.  This was only 3 passes on slicks (stick shift turbo 4)

I assume this was a T2 based car?  How much boost and what turbo?

I don't know if I'd call the MS3 substantially more capable or the software better vs. the Holley.   Maybe the basic FAST system.

For simple operation of an LS based engine, this is likely a true statement (capability, not software).

I've not looked at megasquirt before, interesting though I like the idea of the noob friendly auto tune of the Holley.

If I was going to go full-on and learn to tune myself then I would have to think about just getting a loom and using the existing ecu with hp tuners.

VE analyze live (Tunerstudios version of "autotune") is the only "auto tune" feature I have used that I actually liked.   It works quite well, but resides in the tuning software.  There are certainly plenty of online testimonials of the Holley systems "tuning themselves" as advertised, I just would personally plan on helping it along for optimum results.  Any EFI system that tells you it completely tunes itself is either lying, or the people making the claim have low standards.

I have actually put some effort to research actual product capability of the Holley HP stuff, but very little information regarding actually capability and strategies is clearly communicated.  For the task of simply operating an LS based engine, it doesn't really matter.  If the decision is between the FAST and Holley, get the Holley.

90% of that stuff is marketing.

The ignition controller is simply because the XFI is not intrinsically capable of decoding the LS tooth pattern, and individual coil control.  It sends a 1 pulse per cam rev, and 4 pulse per crank rev (IE, looks like dual sync distributor) to the XFI box, and communicates with the XFI box via a CAN bus. Means you run 2 boxes and harnesses instead of the 1 that should be required.

I would look at this (it is SUBSTANTIALLY more capable than either of the 2 systems you are considering):
http://www.efisource.com/shop/ms3-lsx-plug-and-play/

The harness is nicer, the system is more capable, and the tuning software is better.

Just get one out of a salvage yard or off EBAY.  If FB speedo head is same as FC, there is no adapting, it just works .  If it is different then I have no idea what you do.

I have NO idea about an FB, but on my FC I used a mustang cable.  In plugs/slips right onto the speedometer.  The only problem is the mazda speedo did not have a compatible retention feature.  The "solution" for this was to cut a slot in the housing end that would allow a worm gear clamp to compress it.  It has been on car for several years and 15k miles now, and NEVER came off.

If FB is substantially different, then ignore.
