Electronics / will removing oil/coolant gauges make anything else not work?
« on: February 19, 2015, 09:56:16 PM »
my oil pressure and coolant gauges in my cluster are dead. i have after market ones hooked up. im about to pull my cluster to fix my dead odometer issue. i figured since i was pulling the cluster out anyway, its a good time to replace my dead gauges with working ones. (aftermarket). would just removing the gauges change the way anything else works? dont know if it would disrupt a power or ground circuit.

ive searched threads where people replaced gauges with aftermarket, i just didnt see any info on this. thanks!

Im aware that it wont just be a drop in swap. Just wanna know if removing the 2 factory gauges, if it will disrupt any other circuits.

Electronics / spedo stopped working. possible tests before pulling it out?
« on: February 19, 2015, 12:03:17 PM »
so my spedo doesnt work in my Fd. is there a way to test to see if it is the digital dakota or the spedo before i pull the gauges out? can i just put a a voltage tester on the out put of the dakota to make sure its giving a signal? also, my buddies laptop does read the speed while tuning if that helps narrow it down.

thanks

so you dont need a digital dakota? you can just adjust the pulse setting in hp tuner and done?

only big issue i see is usually you sand blast what ever you are going to coat. thats why you usually disassemble the calipers for coating. so you can properly clean everything before coating

Drivetrain / Re: help!!!!im about to set my car on fire!!!
« on: July 27, 2014, 10:54:02 AM »
i doubt it. i started with it all the way screwed in (least amount of pressure) and worked my way out. the clutch was fine before the slave died. ive been doing some reading, and if the slave was leaking (it was) it could have gotten fluid on the clutch and is causing it to slip.

Drivetrain / help!!!!im about to set my car on fire!!!
« on: July 26, 2014, 09:41:16 PM »
few months ago i was out tuning my car where my slave cyl took a shit. fast forward to today, i replaced my master and my slave cylinder. now it seems to shift fine (have not done any wot pulls yet) and it instantly smokes the clutch. I had no issues like this before my hydraulic issues. is there anything that could be not adjusted properly or something that could have caused this? it happens under light load or wot. rpms just scream....

turbo l76
01 t56
new gm ls1 slave
new wilwood 7/8 master
ls2 flywheel
ls7 clutch.

please help!!!
thank you!
