Parts for Sale / Volk GT-S and Advan AD08's for sale
« on: May 20, 2014, 12:49:43 PM »
I'm going to be running a new set-up this year so these have to go.  They have 250 miles on them and yes you read that right, 250 miles.  The rear tires have been shaved for grip and the fronts haven't been touched.  The fronts are 18x9.5 and the rears are 18x10.5.  I'll need to get tire sizes but I believe the rears are 285's and the fronts are 265 but i'll confirm.  I can have the centers painted to whatever color you want at no charge I just need a paint code you want and a few days.  Looking to get $3000 shipped to your door or best offer.  The tires retail for almost $1k alone then add in wheels at $600+ per and that's how I came to the number.  There are obviously no scratches, curb damage or dents.  PM me with any questions or an offer or call or text me at 414-791-2414.

Parts WTB / WTB FD Cowl Cover and Rear Tail Light Plugs
« on: May 20, 2014, 11:17:00 AM »
I'm looking for the plastic cowl that covers the windshield wipers as well as the plastic plugs that go into the tail light.  This is going on a racecar so condition isn't terribly important just that they work.  Please let me know asap if you have either.

Thanks!!!

So one of the things I knew we needed to work on was the lower intercooler tank... space was an issue down there, and it was made way too small, and didn't have a good inlet the first time around.  I never intended that tank to be there forever, but after the last track day, I knew we had a problem since boost readings were low and IATs were way up.  Shout out to the Infinity for keeping everything safe lol.

Here was the old intercooler setup - 3" inlet on the bottom going to a 3.5" x 1.5" tank (that tapers to 3.5" x .5") lol.

Took the core through the bandsaw and measured for total clearance

3" tube has an internal area of just under 7 sq in, so I ended up with 5.5" x 1.5" tapering to 3.5" x .5", pretty close to ideal.  Came over to Anthony's with the core and some 1/8" aluminum to use his shear and Dynasty 350 welder

Now I needed to make the end tank - I measured 3 different points to maintain that ~7 sqin throughout, and got the end positioned in 3d space

Templating up the sides was tricky, got it all welded inside and out

Then I realized it was about 1/2" too far inboard.  DAMN!  Made a couple jogs over so it'd line up with my charge pipe (which couldn't come further inboard due to oil control stuff and my forward front structure tube)

Did a fairly average job welding this stuff, nothing to write home about - a couple pieces were clean but a couple were terribly dirty.  Got em welded inside and out

Took it for a drive, and it was impossible to get a log - couldn't get traction.  It's true, it's cold and rained earlier, but holy shit when the blower used to come on at 3.5k-4k rpm and start to have uncontrollable spin at 5k or so if you stay in it, it's uncontrollable before 4k now.  Can't wait to get it back on the dyno.

Wow, that was a long post.  Here's a picture of my gf and her gfs for your troubles.  They're all practicing MD's.

Man whoever came up with that end tank design and bending is a pure genius  :D 8)

What brand is your kit?
[/quote]

I did it all myself. Essentially consists of -3AN fittings that take it through the firewall with brake line that I bent myself. The bias on my car is in the drivers footwell under the kick panel but if I were doing more straight forward build I would just throw it in the bay somewhere. I have my build thread on the forum. It's probably a few pages back because I haven't updated it in awhile haha.

It's not bad. I pulled it and did a line tuck to clean it all up. That's probably farther than you may want to go but as long as you are patient it's not bad. Just buy extra line and get a adjustable proportioning valve like a wilwood. It'll help dial the bais and if you track it you can change the set up to the track. Good luck!

Suspension/Brakes/Wheels / Power steering reservoir issue
« on: October 02, 2013, 09:58:19 PM »
I remember seeing a post about people having issues with the gto style reservoir contacting the hood. Does anyone have any pictures of how they slotted the bracket or reservoir? I'm looking at both and just not seeing how to make they work. My other thought was to just get an fbody pump set up because I know that clears but I'm not sure if you can intermingle those accessory set ups. Any thoughts? I'm trying to avoid cutting into the carbon hood if possible. Thanks in advance!

The cars looks great. Love the color you chose and that Milspec harness really makes a huge difference. It cleaned up the engine bay nicely. I was wondering, did you keep A/C or did you remove it?

Nope I pulled the ac. I plan to drive the car a ton but if its crazy hot ill go with my daily haha.
