I only said that the easy part was bolting it to the transmission the rest is, eh...well you know. LOL

Pretty cool build, I don't have nearly the fabrication skills you do but we ran into many of the same problems and same solutions. People don't realize how easy it is to bolt up a 4g63 or almost any mazda engine to a RX7 transmission.

I'm putting in an F2T engine from and mx6. Planning on more or less 400hp

My build is currently in the works but is getting pretty close. I'm installing my custom exhaust manifold and soon my custom intake manifold will be done and ready to install.

got any videos?

Lack of interest on this site.

if anyone wants to follow my build you can catch it on either

working on making 400 HP

I picked up this non-turbo FC RX-7 locally for like $800 blown but running motor. there was some hype about being able to swap the engine out with an F2T from a 88-92 MX-6 using stock parts. So naturally since I have had so many MX-6s and lots of spare parts I thought it would make a good replacement for the rotary.

It is nice to know that people also make 300+ HP on the stock F2T engine. Some even claiming as much as 500

This is when I got it and put it in my garage.

Want a lift? I can get you one for $2,000 USA plus shipping.

rebuilt the engine.

I decided to use non turbo pistons for the higher compression. 7.8 compression I think is just too low. 8.6 is the non-turbo compression which is still low.

Bought a cam from the carbureted Mazda F engine variant in New Zealand. It has larger (fater) lobes (more duration, more powar o.O)

You can't tell in the picture but I did measure them with a caliper and the lobes are fater.

Removed Rotary engine =' ( sniff  and tranny removed

To make the F2T fit in the RX7 is much like (and not at all like) how marty and turbo yoda put the flat 6 in Gramps using all stock parts.

one major thing needed is how in the world to connect the new engine to the rx-7 transmission.
In comes the b2200 tranny.

Top RX7 bottom B2200

Pretty much all mazda RWD non-turbo transmissions since 1980(probably even before) till some were in the 90's (may be even to the present I haven't researched that far) have parts that are interchangeable.
Bell housings, gears, input shafts, etc. Swap whatever you want.

Rx7 input shaft (top) b2200 input shaft on rx-7 transmission. I know the gear on it doesn't really look the same but the gears on both of them are the same. Just the input shaft is obviously different.

so why b2200? well the truck shares the same block with the F2T. Swap bell housings and and input shafts. and bam. You got yourself a transmission for the F2T with much better RX7 gears that bolts up in the stock location and uses the stock drive shaft. No fabrication necessary. (well almost, you'll see)

Drivetrain / Re: Daily Driver FC Swap?

There is more out there then v8s, 2JZ and SR20s
those have been done and over done, make great power, reliable and whatever.
Why not try to keep it mazda?

Depending on your power goals mazda has perfectly good engines that can make really good power. Many swap in with a bellhousing change.

That is what I am doing with my F2T powered FC.

Chances are mazda being a small company shared the same MZR block with some RWD mazda.

As things are I can bolt up an F2T, FE3 strait up to an FC, FD, Miata, or even an Rx8, at times even without a bellhousing swap.
