btw, i saw you said it waas 8500 in your first post, i got my erod for 7600 if i remember correctly. i had summit price match  ;)

also for the gas pedal, buy the samberg adapter, or you can make your own.

Looks like the E-Rod price went up. I see $8,350 at all the big players. Add a couple thousand if you buy at Chevy?

goracer, the kit comes with the drive by wire gas pedal. Sunshine is talking about the mount for the pedal.
Samberg's mount is nice, but it puts the pedal too high for heel and toe. I had to drill new holes to clock it.

Sounds like a great deal for a complete conversion for only $2500! You'll save enough money to go for the LS9! You'll need to cut a big hole in your hood to fit it, but it'll be bad ass!

Let us know how it turns out.

yeah summit had the erod for like 8500 but i could a place that was cheaper shipped, and told them and they price matched it no problem!

i have and erod ls3 with a tr6060 behind it

Hey Sunshine... Glad to see you got running. What was your experience with smog testing? Just wondering if I was the only one who had to fight.
thank you! haha
well my story is a bit complicated with smog. local smog shops do not want to touch it, everyone freaks out over it for some reason even with the EO sticker, and i dont understand why.
how did smog go with your car? did you find a place to smog it, or did you see a ref, etc?

EDIT; i went back and found your posts about it. i think im going to have a similar issue very soon when smog is due.
sending you a pm...

sorry im late to the party, i didnt get a chance to go through all the comments and this is my first time seeing this tread i have and erod ls3 with a tr6060 behind it, eric(grandmighty) does not have an erod, but he has an ls3. if you have any questions feel free to ask and ill check this tread again later. btw, i saw you said it waas 8500 in your first post, i got my erod for 7600 if i remember correctly. i had summit price match  ;)

edit; i reread your first post, i live in ca, where abouts are you? the wiring is honestly easy, i did my own radiator setup, i dont have a/c rightnow but i will later at some point, if you go tr6060 you could still use sambergs crossmember, i just made a trans mount to work with it. also you will need a driveshaft with a cv joint on the front of it, mated to whichever diff you are running, so the ds gets kinda pricey. i used an fbody oil pan, and an sgi5 for the speedo to work, everything else is just like an other ls rx7 swap. and i would recommend a samberg kit. also for the gas pedal, buy the samberg adapter, or you can make your own.

When you say best tire you can afford, what are we talking...aside from cheap nankangs or something.

my current set up 255-40-17 and 275-40-17 Nitto N555 have lots of tread but over 6 years old and 'seem' rough, loud, and slippery.  Any better choices or are these sort of the high end tires?  Or are mine just old from age not wear?

This is very helpful balance my expectations.  Thank you all!

For as much power as you probably have i dont see those tires doing anything other than spinning. specially if they are older. tires are one of those things, they suck to pay for, but really improve the car overall. long story short when i had my evo x i need tires badly and was dealing with some financial issues at the time. i purchase some average joe tires (dont remember the brand) but they sucked horribly. yeah i had tread, but the car was no longer fun to drive.
there are tons of solid street tires out there for you nt05/rs3/re71/r888 just comes down to what you wanna spend.

Awesome to see! just goes to show how everyone and their mom thinks they are and engineer when they see a little dent in a header/exhaust and think its garbage and wont perform optimally anymore  ::) ::)
