After many tire kickers, I decided to just finish the car back up and put it back on track.  I got an alignment and installed a new windshield.  I had about a day's worth of work left to do on it when p4ck37p1mp contacted me about it(he and I have been good friends and fellow track rats for a long time).  I was very comfortable that the car would be back on track and driven in anger(the way it should be) in his hands.  I have another busy job and another deployment looming so it was an easy decision.  I'm looking forward to seeing him take the car to the next level.

Since I've had around 10 different PM's this week out of no where and one guy that came to look at the car last week, I need to clarify a few things as I've received several of the same questions:

-The car comes with the wheels in the first set of pictures.  They are FD specific, but are just a set I had laying around from another FD and are probably 8 or 9 in. wide.  You will need a set of wide wheels for the car if you want to run 315F/335R like I did.  I have a brand new set of Fikse profil 13's in 18x 11 and 18x12 that I paid almost $5k for.  I will sell them with the car for an extra $3k.  I also have the rear set of these left for $1k: http://www.rx7club.com/wheels-tires-106/ccw-c14-18x10-5-front-18x12-rear-1104123/

-The traqmate with traqdash, hd box, and analog inputs is not included in the $12k price, although it was in the car in the pictures.  It can be included for $1k.

-The car is not street legal or anywhere close.  I do have a title for the car, but the previous owner nor myself have titled the car since it was for track use only.  It will obviously go with the car.

-I'm firm on $12k.  I don't need to sell the car.  I could get a good bit more than $12k out of the car if I part it out, but I hope someone buys it though that will get it back on track.  I'm currently in another Army school as well as a Master's program.  Sprinkle in that I broke and dislocated my wrist and cracked a couple ribs two weeks ago... and time is not something I have a ton of right now unfortunately(as i peck away on the keyboard with one finger while I am supposed to be working on another paper :)) just like a lot of you guys... so bear with me if it takes me a day or two to respond.  I'm happy to give out my email or phone number via PM for anyone interested.

Best of luck Brent. Sorry I couldn't swing it the first time I wanted to buy... I wish I could afford it.

Great seller and great car.

I would have loved for the car to go you as I think you would get good use out of it.  I'll be at COTA at the end of Feb. with MVP if you are around.  I may possibly bring this car out if I still have it.

So here is why the car is currently half painted.  I tapped Fritz(my front driverside wheel contacted his rear passenger side wheel) coming into hog pen at VIR in May 2012.  You can see pictures in thread below.  I put a new subframe in and had a body shop straighten the frame (ds rail) on the frame machine.  Replaced the ds suspension components, header, and steering components.  Work picked up significantly the last few years and I just don't have the time or motivation to finish it up.  It currently needs a few things to be back on the track (wide wheels, alignment, windshield, front bumper and headlight covers installed, splitter fabricated, paint for front end of car).  I'm sure there more little stuff that isn't listed.  I put new OEM front fenders on as Ronin does not have their wide front fenders available.  I started to flare them, but haven't got very far.  Not hurting to sell it, but there aren't really any good tracks in Kansas(will be there 2-3 years) and work won't be slowing time any time soon (and after we leave KS, there is a good chance we could end up some where overseas that I can't take the car with me).  Based off that, I wouldn't mind it going to someone who will get it back on track and enjoy it.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Build thread and majority of the details on the car here:

Car was very competitive in NASA's TTS(now TT2):
Car ran 1:33 at Road Atlanta with much more room to grow.  That was on the old engine with a dropped valve.  That was the first weekend with a bunch of changes that needed to be dialed in.  New engine is a thousand times better.  That was also before the quartermaster clutch, which the Vette guys have documented fairly well to drop their lap times between 1-2 seconds.  I think the car dialed in and with the right driver will run sub 30's at Road Atlanta.

It ran a 2:05 at VIR on the old pavement in the last Time Trial I did there in 2011 the heat of the summer in July 2011.  It was also the fastest Mazda at the Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge that year.  I also have traqmate data from the last weekend I drove it in 2012 that shows 2:03's.  I think with the car dialed in and the right driver, this is a sub 2 minute car at VIR
Here is a VIR video of a 2:07 in 2010:

Plenty more on my youtube channel.  I'm not hurting to sell it.  If I don't get interest, it'll sit until I get time to fix it, put it on the track and have some fun, and then sell it for a lot more than I'm asking for now.  If anyone is interested in an 8x24 enclosed trailer with the car, we can work something out.

Whats the mileage on the chassis, and how is the power steering configured?

I don't know what you mean with the power steering. Haven't looked into it at all it works great so I never had cause to investigate.

True milage is unknown on the chassis due to cluster issue. Having been under and in it I would say between 90 and 140k it's super clean no rust all bolts are easy on and off no reason to think high miles from looking at it.

I ran the history report.  Car has consistent mileage entries from the 2nd owner in Virginia from 1997-2010 that ends with the mileage at 183,000 in 2010.  After the 2nd owner had the car for 13 years, it has bounced around a little with the last mileage recorded at 184,000 in 2011 by the 4th owner.  Good to see that the car had the same owner for 13 years and obviously was a driver's car.  Hope this helps.

Any ETA on the FD front fenders?  I damaged my drivers side a couple of years ago.  I had sent Joel a message back then and he said he had one he could sell me.  I unfortunately got bogged down with work and it slipped my mind.  Completely my fault.  :banghead:  I really like the fenders, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to change to something else to get my car back on the track(which I'd rather not do).  It certainly will not look as good as these though.  Hope all is well with you guys.  I certainly respect you guys for holding out to ensure you have a good product that can be delivered in a timely manner before taking customers money
