That’s a 2 piece set up. The one piece set up on most cars caused the hood gap.   The two piece design helps eliminate it.  The other portion bolts to the top of radiator support.  Those 2 screws support the radiator at the angle it sits in.

Hey Vito,

What are the 2x  screw slots (Looks like M4) for in the front of the shroud?

I think you’re referring to the slots for an ac condenser.  Is that what you mean?

Thanks Jeff, I really appreciate it.  Already looking into it.

Dude, Vito I just saw this (off a link showing Samberg is perm out of the game) - this is awesome!  I hope you're able to get another run together.

Can't recommend Vito enough - solid guy and these radiator kits look amazing.  Great work.

Sorry, I had missed the reply from earlier.  These aren’t listed on CBR’s website.  Long story short, I’m currently out.  I was going to run another build, but at the time there was steel and aluminum tariffs and I was quoted 30% higher from CBR.  I held off.  I’m in the process of rechecking pricing again.  Unless the increase is okay for some.

Please pm me for specifics and I can update you individually first and then the forum.

Thanks,

Vito

Are these still available for purchase??

I have the same question.  I didn't see the kit on the CBR site.

Parts for Sale / FS Van Nuys: 8.8 rear diff with axles
« on: April 04, 2018, 04:12:24 AM »
i have a 2004 Ford Cobra IRS 8.8 Diff for sale with 31 spline axles.   I purchased the differential from a member on the svt forums.

The diff was rebuild by RamJet rear ends in Sun Valley, Ca.  They installed new 373 gears and new bears along with the rebuild.    One of the axles that a broken outer joint, but the inners are good.

I'm taking a loss to sell it.   $1200.00.   I would like to sell it to a local member.

The differential is located in Van Nuys, Ca.   You can pm me on the forum or email me at vitoman1977@gmail.com.

How does this compare to the Samberg V2 in terms of btu dissipation?
My V2 is holding up as far as leaks, but I could use a lot more capacity to keep temps in check.

I don't know the exact numbers of btu dissipation, but i will try to find out for you.   From what i've noticed and Aharada, temps drop faster once fans kick in as well as when driving, even though they are regulated by tstat.   This would be great on the track. I'm dropping off a kit to (Matt) Skeltic next week.  I think he will be using in on track, but not sure.  I know he races a Miata for the laguna Seca race.  He'd be a perfect guy to ask once he does the install.  In the meantime, i will check with Clint from CBR and see if i can find the answer for you.

Nice!! It’s bad ass that you put the drain petcock on the rad to drain easier!! Wish my samberg rad had one. I’ve taken mine out a few times and make a mess every attempt!!

Thank you.  yeah, it was well needed and easily overlooked.   It does make a nice difference, especially if you don't have to pull your radiator out to drain it.

This looks like a nice setup, Vitoman. Congratulations! I know you put a lot of effort into it. If I hadn't gone the Ron Davis route last year I'd be chomping at the bit for one of these.

Thank you!  it has been a long while.  I'm glad i'm able to offer a great product to fellow enthusiasts.  I have a full time job, so i do apologize for not being able to devote more time to it.  This is something i felt strongly about for a while now.  I wanted to make sure nobody was left in the dark on their issues.

After a while of going through different vendors and radiator shops, i've finally developed a new bolt in application.

See Pictures:

https://photos.app.goo.gl/2Px3LX2laF1RhKqH3

I sell them as complete kits, or  non-complete to help those with leaking Samberg units.   The reason why i started this was because i too had a leaking core.  After several attempts of trying to contact and email with no response, I decided to go out on my own and try to modify a design that has worked.  This design is similar to the samberg v2, but much different in every way, internally as well as the addition of shrouds that can be unbolted for repair.  It has all metric bolts, and a drain plug was added.  This also uses the same a/c condenser mounting holes as the v2.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-A-C-Condenser/140277905793?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116&item=140277905793&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

This new design has bolt on shrouds.  Should damage occur to your radiator causing it to leak, you can unbolt the shrouds and get it repaired, either locally, or send it in to CBR.  This is backed by a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects.

The top shroud is a 2 piece design which helps with the hood gap issue seen in the Samberg v2 model.

As for mounting.  The new mounts do not force the radiator up against the frame.  Instead, they have a center bushing that butts up against the frame and creates a slight gap.  This has the radiator sit on the actual radiator mount, not torque it up against the frame.  Pinned versus a type of frame mounted design.  I believe this is what has caused may v2 radiators to leak.

Another great feature is that this radiator's core is a multi chambered, extrude honed design.   This is a new design which CBR has tested for several years on Baja 500 and Baja 1000 trucks.  They have held up significantly over the oval tube design, which you find in almost everything now.   The only other racing circuits which use a multi chambered extrude honed design are nascar, and Formula 1.   There is an obvious reason why there are using them.

some will argue against this patented design, but it works in real world applications.

Many will say these are heavy radiators.  Yes, but the weight is a negligent amount when you're pushing 350+whp.

Full kits include Spal Fans 30102022, which have better flow-through design when you reach driving speed.   They include shielded worm clamps. These don't cut into your hoses when you tighten them down.   For group buys, i will include constant tension hose clamps. A stant radiator cap is also included. This will bolt up 100%.  All you need to do is add fan relays and wire it up.

Complete kits are priced at 1940.00 plus shipping and non-complete kits, which consist of radiator and shrouds, are priced at 1450 plus shipping.  Please knock off 100.00 for group buys.

I will also offer the top shroud and mounts for those who already have the Samberg V2 version.  This will help take stress off the radiator and act as a pinned radiator versus a frame mounted.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.   Customer service to me is priceless and so is a quality product.

I appreciate trying to help out as much as I can.

Thanks in advance,

Vito
