Been awhile since I've been on this forum. Wasn't long before I stumbled upon this thread.

Here is another member that I knew who did an E rod install.

Build Threads / Re: My 93 LS6 Build Thread
« on: October 10, 2013, 04:55:49 AM »
Just posting this as I've been having some issues sleeping and perhaps to gain some closure on a project I spent the better half of a year on.

So I ended up selling the car about 3 weeks ago. Had it posted up on multiple forums including this one and got nothing but low ballers and tire kickers. Finally got the response I wanted from the last place I wanted to post it on... ebay.

Once I had the deal set up, I sent her on her way on a transport truck and never looked back. Do I regret it? Nope, not at all.

Why you might ask? Because this car has been nothing but one headache after another for me. Beginning with the original seller screwing me over to the mechanic who took advantage of my situation with the project.

Even when I finished the car, I had nothing but trouble to worry about. For one, the car would've never passed smog here in Cali. Another was how low the car sat. Both of these factors combined just made my trips in the car more stressful than enjoyable. Not only would I have to plan my route ahead of time making sure to avoid certain parking lots or dips but also cities where the cops might not be as anal.

I know I should have anticipated things like this before I decided to throw an Ls engine into an Rx7 but that wasn't the deal breaker. Truth of the matter, I totally understand how driving cars like this could be. My brother had a slammed (super street illegal) nsx for christ's sake which I drove around for a year so I understood what I was getting into. What really killed it for me with the Rx7 was that I think my ability to cope with the crap it came with just wasn't there any more. When I was younger (and poor-er), I didn't mind dealing with the inconvenience of a sports car because let's face it, it was cool and I liked it. But these days, I find myself asking "why". Why do I need to give up so much comfort or convenience just to stand out a little bit or go a little faster than everybody else?

Well I finally realized, I don't. While the Rx7 itself is a great car, I realized it's just not for me. I hate planning my routes with my girlfriend on where we can or cannot go eat because the angle of this parking lot would destroy my bumper. I hate driving down the freeway getting mugged by cops because (let's face it) we both know my car is not street legal and all the cop has to do is pull me over and he can easily impound my vehicle. And I hate not having AC or smelling like gasoline / exhaust after a drive.

Anyways, I feel like I'm starting to rant now so I'm going to wrap this up. Thanks to everyone on this forum who has ever contributed anything towards this project. I can safely say that your help has been the sole reason why I was able to "finish" this project and going beyond that.... has really made me feel like there is still some hope in humanity. haha

I'll see you guys around. For those in the bay, don't be surprised if you see a guy in a GTR waving at you as it's probably me. Later.

I like the seats.

Thanks!

I've updated my first posting to include more pictures of the interior and a video of the car running / doing a mini burn out.

Whats wrong with the drivers door/fender?  Any better pics of that?

Do you have any other interior pics?

Also, does the car come with the parts that were on the car when you bought it from darkone?  I'm thinking of the cage + Alcon calipers.

Thx.

Cage is gone. Alcon calipers were sold / traded awhile back on the build. AP racing brake set up was installed in place.

I'll get some more interior pictures of the car when I can. Car is parked in my parent's garage.

Woops. I probably shouldn't have just copy and pasted everything from my excel sheet without looking it over. Sorry for all the errors guys =P

I've edited out the prices on my original post since you guys seem to be picking at the prices of my parts rather than evaluating the car as a whole.

Price of the car is still at 32k obo with everything or 29k obo without the seats (since it seems like some of you dislike the seat set up I currently have in there anyways).

For those of you who have anything to say to me regarding things that don't necessarily contribute to the sale, I welcome you guys to private message me.

Car was tuned by Rick @ synergy motorsports in Fremont, Ca.

A fire extinguisher was going to be the next item on the list.

lol. I'm just testing the waters.

How's your build going btw? Have you driven it with the turbo yet?

So I've been thinking about selling my car mainly because I feel like I'm starting to hit the end point of the build now and thus I'm losing interest in it.

Don't get me wrong. It's not that it isn't a great car but I'd like to move onto other projects.

Anyways, without further ado.

I bought the car off dark-one last year around April.

His for sale thread was here: http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=7412.0

When I bought the car last year, it came with a turbo'ed Ls6.

Despite dark-one's "guarantee", anything and everything that went wrong with the car, did. Bottom line was that the car was NOT how he described it to be at all.

You can see my build thread for a longer explanation here: http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=11637.0

Long story short, I ended up almost replacing everything with brand new parts. It was a HUGE and lengthy ordeal for me but when it was all said and done, was actually quite satisfying. That and it provided an opportunity to work out all the kinks.

The mods on the car are as follows:

Al power steering pump pulley
Greddy turbo timer

Power Steering

The Bad:

- The exterior could use some loving. Paint is fading after 20 years. Also, front driver side fender needs some repair work done to it (car bottomed out before).
- No A/C - I have all the parts for it but no idea how to run the lines.
- Radio doesn't work. Not that you can hear anything anyways cause the car is so loud.

The car is fully dialed in to be capable both on the street and the track. I've put about a 1000 miles (all street cause I have never even been to the track) on the build since it was completed 3 months ago.

The car was recently tuned by Rick @ Synergy Motorsports in fremont and made about 412 - 430 hp. The engine is fully built though and is capable of handling turbo or a much more aggressive cam set up if you desire.

Title is clean and in hand. Registration was done back in March, 2013 so it's still pretty fresh.

I'm asking 28k obo or 25k without the seats.

Haven't really done much to the car as I've been working a lot. But here are some updates.

Finally got around to installing my feed engineering HID lights. We re-did the wiring to not only accept the stock connectors but for the HID's to come on with my existing headlights.

If you notice at the bottom of that first picture, I also managed to crack my front bumper. Since this is my first sports car, I'm still getting used to the fact that there are some things you just can't drive over like you would in any other car  =/

I love this shot for some reason. That ass....

My mazdaspeed GTC lens covers finally came in.

random interior shot of all the CF.

Gotcha. Thanks!

Is there any site you would recommend to buy all the AC stuff from? So far.... I have the GM compressor, a aftermarket condenser, and some lines already so I think I'm like 80% there already with the AC being completed. What else would I need to get it to a 100%?

Also, any recommendations on helping this car hook better? I was considering going widebody and then slapping on some wider tires but I feel like that would just turn my car into a even bigger money pit.
