Glad to see this thing still going, mine hasn't even been finished yet.  Have you gotten a hood to fit on with that motor in there?  It doesn't look like mine will clear the cam gears.  And one last thing, have you thought about o-ringing the head and block?  It might help if you are consistantly having head issues.

Well, I am a little late, but I have a car for trade as well.  Looking for a fully sorted, clean fd in trade, but would also consider op's car.  Needs some work but I value it at more than most of the lives on this board.  I was advised against posting pictures for someone may try to steal it, but based on the info here, it may help it to sell (besides, if it gets stolen I will just have mommy and daddy get me a new one).

Bolting a 4g motor to the mazda trans is easy if you have a wideblock and can find the right bellhousing.  Glad to see how well yours is doing, it is getting me excited to finish mine.  I have a few more parts to collect before assembly, hopefully I can have it running by spring.

My brother had a couple Miata's and I don't care what anyone says about them, they are a hoot to drive.   :drive:   It is like driving an adult version of a go-kart.  I drove both a 1.8 and a 1.6 (with and without a turbo).  The only thing I didn't care for was the high rpm's on the freeway.

I know in Indiana you can drive with your old plates (or plates off your other car if you're "planning" to replace it with the new one) for 30 days.   Discussed it with the BMV myself.    Like I said, I'd just go down with the plates off another car you own and drive home on those.   Keep the bill of sale in the car so you have proof of ownership and take the title for the car that the plates belong on with you.   It's really not a big deal.

Same in Ohio.  This is what I would do.

I don't know Jeff nor have I ever had any interaction with him.  That said there is a saying about business in general that I like.  "It is not the mistake that matters so much as how that mistake is handled".  Imho, honesty is the best policy.

Rather than bitching about how the lights were out on part of the tree, why didn't he just wrap a strand of lights around the part that is out?

My only advise is to not use cinder blocks.

No room in that engine bay?  Compaired to an rx7 it looks like you have acres.

I am casting my vote for itb's, I love the look of those old motors with velocity stacks peeking through the hood.

It seems like you are trying to ensure nobody copies your build with all these military spec fasteners and fittings.   :secret:

Mazda should just offer any rotary powered car as a roller for an option...

I just work in the shipping department for a company that manufactures precision air conditioning equipment for server rooms (anyone familiar with Liebert products?).  No degree in anything and never went to college (mistake).  I have thought about going back to school a couple times, but I am afraid that I may not be able to afford it (and worry about getting a good enough job afterwards to pay student loans with the economy the way it is).  I am really thinking about trying to get a job at a local college so I can go for free though.
