I have a buddy with a Holley.   Maybe I’ll borrow it and hack the CAN this winter.

Please do...

If anyone is interested in a tune, please get in touch with me: projectgattago at gmail dot com

if they publish it they wont be able to make $$ on the displays / dashes as you can do a pi dash for pennies then.

"pennies?" as in less than one dollar...LOL

I get your point, but the Holley dashes do a lot more than display data.

This thread is funny to me, coming from the muscle car world. I can take every post in this thread, substitute the word "Pontiac" where you say "rotory" and it would still all be true.

I call them "brand zealots" and they are everywhere.

Just wanted to leave some kudos for Andrew here.    For a lot of you that don't know, he goes WAY back around here and he's a good dude.   He's got some pretty cool cars as well.     He knows his stuff on the Holley gear for sure, and he can hold his own on a discussion of CAN bus communication, which is either good or scary, hah!

Thanks Blake. I know just enough about CAN to be dangerous. I actually wish that Holley would publish their CAN protocol. I have mentioned this to the powers at be at Holley, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I have been around here, mostly due to the fact that I have not owned a LS swapped RX7 for about 10 years. I might be an OG, having built my first FC back in the stone age of 2003. Back then we were all hanging out on Torque Central...

In any case, with Blake's blessing, I would like everyone to know that if anyone is interested in remote Holley EFI tuning, to please get in touch. I do Holley tuning full time and have done many HP, Dominator and Terminator X system, on LS and a variety of other engines.

You can send me a message here, or find me on Instagram or Facebook: projectgattago

Thanks!

Blake,

I haven't been around here much, mostly because I haven't owned a LS swapped RX7 for over 10 years. It's great to see all the details that you are putting into this Mustang!

For anyone else, if anyone is interested in Holley EFI tuning, please get in touch with me. You can find me here, or on Instagram: projectgattago.

I love that cougar, and that is a really cool intake manifold with the dual TB's.  I really like where you went with it and have been tempted to buy a patinia'd 68-72 C10 and making it a fun truck to drive like you did the cougar.  You have the cogs in my head turning.

Glad to be an inspiration. :-)

Here is my thought on the subject. In 1998 I tore apart my 1970 GTO and did a full restomodification. The car made it into several magazines and eventually I did a LS swap. I don't drive that car too much because while not perfect, I am fairly paranoid about door dings.

Last year I built a LS swap 1967 Cougar. The body was mostly rust free and the exterior has a ton of patina. I drive the wheels off that car and take it EVERYWHERE! Last week I drove it from WI to Memphis and it was no drama, despite going through rain and having drag radials. This car gets more attention than if I set my GTO on fire in the middle of Time Square.

Bottom line is that you have to decide how you want to use the car. If you want to drive it and not care about exterior, then don't go crazy...

http://www.502streetscene.net/forum/showthread.php?t=181938

not sure if you can see it all. But over 6 years i have went thru basically a ground up build in a turbo 2 shell with a t56/5.3 setup that makes 330 rwhp, Crash and I have replaced all the bushings, repainted the car, put ac on it, power steering is coming next and I will occasionally put it in shows, do meets etc but I also race the hell out of it every chance I get at autox, I currently skirt the line of street/race car, but the car has a full interior, sound deadening, full stereo. If a bumper, side skirt gets broken bc of an autox cone we can always repaint it (Which will be happening soon bc they are broken now hah)I love the car but I do drive the hell out of it every chance I get!

My recommendation is not go too pretty or too full race, go full poly if you want and keep every creature comfort you can. You can always add more resonators and more power to keep the sound down too.

My car is nice, comfortable (spring rate is key) and has ac (creature comforts) etc and could always make 600 hp if i wanted to supercharge, add nitrous or turbo down the road

Long time since you were changing brakes on your Acura in my driveway!

One shifter surround is just missing the boot, but the boot retention ring is intact.

Those solenoids are sold ala carte, so you have to provide your own switch, wiring and fuses. It's a simple installation.
