Title: Widebody 94 Touring LS6 swap Grand Prix White amazing condition
Post by: mr3plus1 on March 01, 2015, 01:18:55 PM
Well the weather has prevented me from giving it one last wash/wax before I do a photoshoot so this is going to be more of a feeler until I can get pics up of exactly what the car will be like when a buyer arrives (should be by next weekend).

The mod list is immense, so I'll condense it and answer any questions/take additional photos as requested.

Powertrain -

Samberg swap kit (subframe and radiator/intake kit)
LS6 from a 2002 Z06 with ~30k miles on it now
Pac 1218 valve springs and trunion upgrade
T56 with ~100k miles on it now from a 2002 Camaro SS
Monster stage 3 clutch
3.90 rear end with TII clutch-type LSD (rebuilt with new friction plates)

Suspension/brakes -

Tein flex coilovers
Braided brake lines
EBC red stuff pads all around
929 Master cylinder
Poly diff bushings, new pillow balls, etc

Exterior -

OEM 99spec front end
Pettite flares molded in
Shine auto side skirts
Grand Prix White (Honda S2000 color)
Forgeline wheels with 265/35/18 Direzza ZII's up front and 335/30/18 R888's in back

The car has been my daily driver for the past 2 years and hasnt even given me a hiccup in all that time.  Its 100% reliable as can be and the swap is professional sorted out with no issues.  Everything is easy access and simple to deal with.  I work as a mechanic for a career and built this car properly, not cutting any corners in the process.  The inside is flawless.  The carpet is brand new OEM black with new floormats.  The seats are low mileage pullouts in fantastic shape with no rips or tears.  All the plastic is intact and unbroken (including the map pocket in the door - one of many new items from mazda).  All the weatherstripping is new.  All the gauges work.  A/C blows ice cold.  The MP3 CD player sounds amazing with the 2 kicker speakers in the door and the hidden 8" sub in the trunk tucked neatly into the spare tire well and hidden under the carpet.

This is built as a true drivers car - there are no aids.  The abs system has been removed (including the computer and de-pinning all the wires from the harness).  The airbags have been removed.  There is no power steering.  The 929 master cylinder coupled with ebc reds and sticky tires gives the car insane stopping power.  The 335 r888s in the back have no trouble grabbing traction even with all the torque.  The car is a missile off the line and rides on rails in the turns.  I even corner balanced it.

I could write a small book on what has been done to the car honestly.  It's been 100% fully restored.

The RX7 has been my dream car since I was a kid and Ive owned it for 10 years now.  I spent probably 1000+ hours turning it into this and it absolutely kills me to see it go.  I fear I'll regret this decision the rest of my life, but Im trying to get my family into a house and I cant keep a 2 seater forever.  Its time I find a 4 seater car so Im not strapping my son into the front seat of this every day and use the rest of the money as a down payment for a house and funds for buying appliances/etc.  And of all people its my wife that thinks Im a fool for doing this.

161,3xx on the chassis.  Clean title in hand.

Sale Pending

Sad to see this up for sale after seeing all the work done to this bad boy - followed this build for years and years!  Hope you find someone who appreciates what a finished product you've got here.

Post a link to that car. I don't recall a 1000hp FD ever selling for anywhere under 40k. How was it in better condition, this car is basically brand new?
I think 40k is a bit high but 35k all day.

The big hp car was priced under $40k was that beat supercharged SBC car with no interior and a 15ft body/paint job.  I mean, I get that they're both v8 cars, but that's about where the similarities end.

lol i was watching his videos yesterday and i thought it was a blown LSX. i didnt know it was just a smallblock with a stock rear. what a turd. only thing its good.for is burnouts? sounds like a mustang. If he got 18k for that damn thing with an auto then im gonna hold out for more on my RX8.

Good luck with the sale! Love the flares molded in! Now I'm thinking about doing that to my Chaste White '94 as well.

Instead of pooping up his thread maybe we should all quietly sit back and hope he gets $40k, meaning our car values have gone through the feckin roof.

To the OP: you can delete peoples posts in your own for sale threads.  Just fyi

I've seen this car in person and the owner is a great guy.  One of the cleanest cars I've seen, period.  That's including 100% factory cars with 40,000 miles on them.  This thing is immaculate and 100% restored.

1st off, what a nice looking car!
It's not hard to spend 40k on building a car, yes I do know first hand.
The ones who comment on the price being high add no value at all to this thread.

Man, I love your car, I always loved seeing it at coffee and cars (when it still happened...)

What are you looking for in a 4 door daily?  I own a 2012 300 SRT8 and I gotta say it is alot of fun, let me know if you want me to take you for a spin, I am in Cypress

Obviously you don't always get your money back in a car but I always ask myself could I build a car to this degree for how much they're asking? And combined parts and labor and TIME, you cannot. So it is worth it, maybe just not to you. Goodluck with the sell!

Very clean!  I'm in the same boat as you for the home buying....only I'm keeping my car because I know I'll regret it, you should to!  Being broke isn't that bad! Haha

This is way out of my price range, but I did notice you were looking for something with more seats. Would a JDM rear seat swap work for you to keep the car? As it sounds like your wife wouldn't be happy with the sale.
