Here's a little history about my build. I originally bought my black chassis in 2000. Rotary powered of course. I went through a couple engines, installed a greddy T78, went through a couple more engines. Last rotard was in late 2002, early 2003. This is when I decided that I was doing things wrong. If I wanted to make any any decent power, I was going to need a different car, or an alternate power plant.
Jim Lab's v8 Monstrosity thread was going strong back then, and my room mate at the time put a LT1 in a z32 300z. I found the torquecentral board and found a guy local to me (IronDonut) who took me for a ride in LS1 FD. I was hooked. I installed the ls1 within a couple months and was thrilled. Then of course came nitrous. Then of course i wanted to make more power soooooo that's when the turbo project started (2004).
The turbo project took awhile, we ultimately had my black car on the road with turbo in 2007. That's when i had the bad engine fire due to fuel rail issues. The fire was a real blow after all the time and effort spent on the car.
After the fire the car sat for over a year and I considered abandoning the project. I bought a z06 and planned to move my motor over and set it up with twin turbos. It didnt take long for me to get bored with the z06 and miss my FD. I started looking for a replacement chassis. FD chassis's were expensive. It seemed like all of them (even the more expensive ones) had dents, rough interior, or other issues. A local RX friend never really drove his car anymore. It wasnt my first (or second) choice color wise, but it was in nice shape, I knew the history of the car, and it had a TON of nice parts I could sell off. I made him an offer, parted out the car and continued with my build. I worked on the car when i had time and had it back on the road by 2009.
