Ok, seem to have the clutch figured out...we'll see.
Electrical short - 100% my fault.  Black with white wire - thick - IS NOT a ground!  :)  I dutifully grounded it like I had so many others throughout the car.... oopss.  None of the ignition wires,(coming into the switch), should be grounded, they are all potentially hot..  That was my clue.  Took that ground off, no more blown 40+ amp fuses!
Took me a while to figure out the proper way to FINALLY get rid of the VATS w/HP tuners.  WRITE ENTIRE, not Calibration Only....  So I have fuel,(and good pressure), good injector pulse when cranking - but I don't think any spark...  still looking into that.
It should be alive later today!

SHE LIVES!  After some serious chasing of a short, fixing that,  then finding no power to the coils, and then getting the ECM flash right - it ran!
Now all the fun stuff getting it sorted to finally drive.  The hard stuff is over - now the little things like fluids, panels, fans, etc..

Waaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiitttttttt a minute.  You're telling me you live in Fort Smith...How did I not realize this?  I'm in Maumelle.  Went to the U of A @ Fayetteville.  We should definately meet up sometime.  I was certain I'd be the only LSX swapped FD in the state.  Guess not. haha

Nice.  I wanna see that Z too.  Is that running?  Mine will be a little while.  Doing a full on, ground up rebuild.

Well, no updates since I've been working on the car in all my free time.  Drove it under its own power for the first time yesterday -  and she NEEDS AN ALIGNMENT!  :)
Issues I'm working through - first, I'm pleasantly surprised that with all the wiring I've done combining circuits, moving wires/boxes/etc.., I figured I'd be chasing shorts, etc... but haven't been.  All the wiring issues I've had ended up being fairly straight forward when all was said and done - bad TNS relay and burnt out bulbs for the running lights, me inadvertently grounding a main power wire,(the big power to the ignitor!) causing the previous B1 40 amp fuse to keep that had blown, regular fuses that had blown I hadn't checked, etc..
I need to spend some time uploading the pictures - so it may be a week or so.  I have Greg's,(Pez) new fan controller,(three relays, etc.. in a nice weather tight box).  My wires to it aren't correct, so I'm working on them - so no fan for now.

Issues to work out or my "punch list":

Alignment.  Its bad...

As I posted in a new thread - the ECM isn't seeing the MAF.  Not good, as it reverts to SD and makes it hard to tune the new MAF transfer!  Computer sees a constant .40 lbs/min and -40 deg F!

Need to get the wires to the Fan controller working properly.  ECM is outputing the correct signal when selecting low and high fan - something is amiss btw the ECM and the controller - i.e. my wiring.

A few small coolant hose leaks in the small hoses - need to replace or tighten.

Speedometer, not working properly.  Need to ensure E-40 ECM has the correct functions being sent out, check the VSS, etc..

Get it inspected

New rear tires soon....

Tune it!

for the wheel alignment just put a atring around all the tyres. then you can see the toe and make small adjustments.

it wont be 100% but it will get you by till you can get to a shop!
It's never a pitty to LSx a FD. It's like giving a homeless guy a job and helping him be a productive member of society.

Finally!  Movement!
Well, MAF issues were a incorrect pinned MAF connector for the LS3 cartridge MAF.
MAP issue was the 1.5 bar LS3 sensor - fixed in the offsets in the Engine Diag section of HP Tuners.
Alternator not turning on - fixed itself, no idea...
Coolant leak - replaced a hose and tightened the steam vents on the head.
Car is aligned.
I have some loose parts in the rear - mostly the Race Shop roll bar - maybe some other things.

HOLY CRAP THIS THING HAS SOME POWER!

Tune is nowhere near correct - had been driving it for about an hour around town on errands.  Finally decided to take it up a notch on the road back to the base - just between 1/2 - 3/4 throttle, max of about 5000 rpm.  AFR was 10 and lower - super, super rich.  Timing is way conservative.   Its already faster than my older one was at full throttle with a good tune!
HID lights are and awesome upgrade for night driving!  Wow, after driving a stock setup that was as good as I could get it - there is just no comparison.
So now begins the tuning and chasing of noises...  :)
Need to figure out the dip switch settings for the Dakota Digital - speedo is "wonky" to say the least.  :)

Bob,

Glad to hear the problems are getting sorted.   :)     Congrats on getting to romp on it a bit.     Definitely get that AFR in line, your cylinder walls will thank you.  ;)

Just Wow.

 I was thinking this:

I'll allow this to speak for itself.  Wow.  Not what I expected at all - by a lot.

Ok, time for some picture updates.
 What have I been doing?....
Had the Dual catch cans - couldn't get the bracket to work - so modified it so:

Met with Greg,(Pez), and have his first,(one of them anyways), fan controller - works just like the GM controller.  Mounts perfectly in two pre-drilled holes behind where the pass oil cooler would go - worked great:

The big one - I've never been a fan of having to push the clutch in before starting the engine.  I could bypass it entirely - but why not put a button to take its place?  A momentary switch.  The biggest issue - that is a fair amount of amp passing through it - its a big 10gauge,(?) wire for the ignition.  Most are rated at .5 amps, etc... No good for what I'm going to run - but I found a 120v rated for I think 3a, which when scaled down to 12v, it can handle the power I'm sending through.  Drilled a hole in the lower plastic panel with the vent on it - it works as a nice theft deterrent as well.

Backside - showing the wires.  You have to put the button in, then connect the wires.  They are bare, so I tapped it all up.

More to come... :)
