haha nice Josh.  Maybe Paul did some things for weight reduction he doesn't remember.

I really didn't do anything else, the car is an R1 to begin with...it's supposed to be lighter.haha   This winter I will be working on removing weight though, and adding an accusump so we will see how it turns out.  BTW I will step on the scale an snap a pic so you guys can see how much I weight. ;)

I thought the Base model was the lightest?

I put a 4 point cage in my FD.  Never did any competitive road racing to compare any differences, but it does seem to feel stiffer when in a drift and putting it on jack stands really shows off the chassis stiffnes.

I have seen lots of people use handifoam but that stuff is not very dense

If you really want to make a difference I've used this stuff a couple times and with the heavier stuff a baseball bat barely creates a dent

Good link!  I'm definitely thinking about doing this, since I've decided I'm not going to cage my street car.

That's the stuff I used.  I used a bunch of kits.  Maybe ~6 IIRC.  The problem with using stuff that is too dense is that it can literally expand with enough strength to push out and deform the formed members in the car.  I didn't detect anything like that with the handifoam, but I don't know how much greater density could cause a problem.

Hey imp did you take pics of where you injected this in to? If so could you please post them here,I'm curious to see where they leak out of and what entry holes you used (lol). thanks.

The 2lbs/cu. ft foam expands with enough force inside a sealed snapped bottle to blow the cap off and shoot foam 30+ feet in the air. If you do put too much in, it will end up more dense, same goes for if it's too cold out when you do it. But the shit is very tough.

I have a couple pix in my build thread, and I can look for other pix once I get home.  But I recommend getting your car as stripped as possible before undertaking this sort of thing.  The foam is totally nuts to get off of any surface.  Basically I filled the large voids in the structural members between the shock towers.  Once you have blocked off everything with duct tape, go over it again like 3 times to check for other outlets.  Also I drilled a couple 3/16 holes at ~1 foot intervals to even out the injection of the stuff.  Then cover them with duct tape as you fill.

Has anyone had any interference problems which precluded the use of the tranny tunnel braces on their swapped cars?
