LMAO, the Mustang guys think I'm crazy, mostly.   When you start attacking things with a sawzall and tell them you build "fast Mazdas" they look at you funny.  :P   Only AndrewB on the Pro Touring site likes me, and he's a V8 RX7 guy from back in the day, anyway.

I just want the best possible result for all parties involved. These situations suck and I've been on both sides.  I had problems with schedule on a harness I built, it was a few weeks late and I had a guy super-de-duper pissed at me.   In that case, I ate the cost of his labor and parts and we resolved it, but hey, I didn't get it done when I said I would, and that'd piss me off.   I've also been hosed a few times, sometimes not on purpose, and sometimes someone set out specifically to rip me off.   That sucks.    The biggest thing I've found dealing with these situations is that MOST people don't want to rip you off.   They generally get busy, get over worked or under funded and get stuck.

The biggest thing I will fault people with is failure to communicate.   You've got to let people know what's going on, no matter what.

This thread has a little bit of everything, doesn't it

The OP ordered some coilovers, they weren't in stock, he waited, then changed his order, then asked for a refund - all handled by my front office guy, because frankly, my business is not based around selling $700 coilovers.  I didn't keep an eye on everything throughout the transaction and when he initiated a Paypal dispute and got a refund, I figured that was the end of it.  I now have tracked everything with him and realize I owe him the initial payment back and we're getting that done through Paypal.

Rob, Aimsport still contends that the MXL Strada is compatible with GM LS2 and up PCMs, and I've had success with the GMPP PCM's as well (which show up as TBSS ECU's like yours).  I know you worked with AiM on it, but without some better electrical diagnostic tools and know-how being in the same room as the car, there's not a whole lot either myself or AiM could do - I do feel like we all supported you pretty well, but if you want to take a shit on everybody over the internet, roger that.

90FC, I don't think we know each other, but your glib out-of-context comment was probably pretty cute at the time and helps stir the pot.  Stuff like that encourages people like me not to post anything remotely personal here, and I really like this community, so I don't dig that.

The Bill Cosby shit was timely, but a little out of hand - I'm not raping err'body, and not out to 'scam' anyone.  I don't like the drama, and don't need the couple bucks I'd end up coming away with.

Bryan, Ricardo - both placed orders for Vbox's for "then next group buy" but there wasn't another group buy, and I was already selling at cost.  Can't afford to eat the drop ship fee and shipping when you're not making any money lol.  I know you got your money back Bryan, and I'm sorry for the lack of comms - it looks like I still need to get Ricardo his (unless you want to pay the fee + shipping for your unit).

This leads to my final point - posting on the forum is a great way to chat with the community as a whole, but emailing me directly (all customers have my email address) is the only way I'll actually see it in a timely fashion. If you want to moan or start some wave of discontent, great, create a thread - and I understand why the OP did... but if you want the situation resolved, posting on the forum about it actually ties my hands a little bit - I have even less options to help you, since realistically you can't take anything back.

I enjoy posting here, and feel that I've really helped some of the members here push their projects forward with new products and/or good deals - and Blake is the best admin around in my book.  I'm working solo down here in San Diego and will be shifting the business to more engineering work, electrical design, and consulting, along with technical sales (not interested in 'common' parts sales, unless people specifically ask for my help getting something).  I hope that anyone with issues will email me about it so we can figure out what we can do, and then post up, but either way I'll be over here doing my best to keep things moving into 2015.  Cheers, dudes.

All,

I'm not generally one to be very politically correct, but in this case it's kinda of my job.   I don't want to give the opinion that myself, on behalf of the community, is not involved in this issue, so...

Jeff has been in contact with Velocifaptor (I love that S/N by the way, LOL).   I am awaiting status on that.

I don't think Jeff is out to screw anyone.   I think he is not the best businessman (most people in this industry are not, myself included) and I don't think his office staff/help are particularly awesome either.    I think he's handled situations poorly and I think some people have good reason to be upset.    This is not dissimilar from Greg.

I think we need to get an active discussion involving Jeff and work on this and figure out what our best position, as a group, is, going forward.

If anyone has any issues that they wish to discuss offline, feel free to PM me, or I can get you my number and we can discuss on the phone.   I feel I need to note that we do NOT take money from sponsors here, so there is no financial motive, I just want to take care of everyone, users and vendors, as best we can.  This is YOUR site and YOUR community, I'm just the facilitator.

Regards,

Blake
What can I say, I had a stroke of genius and had to run with it. I appreciate it very much that you have looked into this Blake, and had brought this to Jeff's attention. At this point I'm still waiting for my refund that he said he would transfer into my paypal on the 16th...

Your business may not be centered around "selling $700 coilovers" but either way, your business is your business, and as you said to me, your name is on the door, and handling this matter is your responsibility. If you're trying to trivialize the issue Jeff, I really don't appreciate it, as you still haven't refunded ANY of the $840 that you owe me. You told me Dec 16th that you'd take care of it and I've already waited enough as it is.

I can understand with things changing hands between yourself and Eddie to a certain extent, but this is just ridiculous. I look forward to hearing better things about your business in the future, and good luck to you. But for now, I want my money back.

He has been making it right with a lot of people and he's no longer a vendor on the forum.  Let me see if I can help get Ricardo sorted out as well.

Jeff isn't perfect, but I really don't think he set out to screw anyone over.

I think he has had plenty of time to make it right with everyone.  I hope no one is doing any more business with him.  In the end it his name and his company at stake.  He needs to take responsibility and fix the wrongs that have been made.
