i was doing some reading up and i have seen mixed information on if you have the GTO power steering pump as far as the flow/pressure i guess it supposed to be the same the the fd factory pump but i cant imagine that is right being as my car feels like the pump is overdriving the rack, it seems the get sloppy up in higher speeds. really i'm just looking at any solutions to fix the problem.

Correct, the GTO pump still flows way too much for the stock FD rack, in my opinion.  A Turn One flow reduction fitting (or the variable flow valve I just posted on the last page) will solve that problem - I'm pretty sure they now have a GTO fitting, but a quick call or email is what ya need.  www.turnone-steering.com

Thanks, yea i sent them an email i was reading a thread on here but it was last updated in 2011 so i thought i would see if anyone could shed some light on what everyone is doing these days to correct the problem, ill let you guys know if they carry the fitting. If not ill have to see how the other one you posted works out for you.

Are there two different GTO pumps, LS1 and LS2?
FWIW, I'm running a Pontiac G8 GT pump (per PO and builder BobH's recommendation) and I'm pretty happy with it.  Seems to provide an appropriate amount of boost around town and at the track.  Never feels overboosted, and no problems tracking it.
I *think* that pump should be the same as the LS2 GTO pump, but not sure...

Guhhh... I JUST bought the turn one standard fitting, but given my eventual goal will be drifting and others said that with auto-x the pump can't keep up...the speed at which I'll ended up "lock-to-lock" has me concerned.

This is a common problem even with  factory pumps for the nissan world. Where by the reservoir constantly "boils over" spilling fluid all over the bay, I think what's really happening is the quick movement of the rack is pushing all of the fluid into the reservoir through what is otherwise the low pressure lines, and there is more fluid than the pump can move and the cap is the weak point on a part of the system that isn't supposed to see pressure.

I'd just like to add, Turn One sent me their VariFlow valve yesterday.

http://turnone.squarespace.com/vari-flow-adjustable-flow-valv/

.5 gpm - 3 gpm flow rate, adjustable in .5gpm increments, without changing anything - this isn't a pressure valve, this is an adjustable internal flow reduction so the pump stays happy and you're able to adjust your power steering assist (and therefore feel) as often as you'd like.  It screws into any GM power steering pump too... I'll have to post once it's installed and I have some feedback.

Oh man! I will be ordering 2 of those tomorrow morning!
I do love what I do!

Been talking to Jeff, at turn one he said they still do not carry a fitting that will work with the power steering pump setup that is on my car i believe it is the GTO pump, does anyone know what would be a good option for me to get the car under control at higher speeds, id really like to try this OEM rx7 pump on the ls2 setup but at the same time i don't want to waste my time/money. let me know if you guys have any ideas.

At this point if no one has a solution using the GTO pump I would move to buying and using one of the Turn One Y-body corvette pumps. That way your pulley spacing is correct and now the pressure/flow is correct for the RX7.  It seems like that should be a cheaper route than buying a Corvette pump AND their adapter fitting.

I wonder how that Turn One unit differs (in function) from an off the shelf flow control valve, which could easily be installed inline using standard fittings and adapters.

It's been covered, and is available on their site.  A flow reducing orifice in the high pressure line is bad for the pump - the Turn One fitting does it inside the pump like the factory fitting.

Update time!!! I LOVE having power-steering and love my setup! Here are a couple final pics.  It does run down to a small cooler. I have only went for a couple test drives but it feels just like the stock rx-7 power steering which I always liked.
