Alright LS1 Manifold lady and fellas

Thanks to gnictry, I have verified that the LS1 headers will work with my AC line, BUT there may be a minor casting seam / ridge that you might need to grind away on the manifold to comfortably clear the closest fitting. The following pictures show what's up:

This is on gnictry's LS1 mounted with a hinson subframe.

The second picture shows the spot that gets the closest. My suggestions would be to take an angle/bench grinder to it and make yourself some clearance while shaving some weight off ;)
Alternatively, you can stretch out the aluminum 180degree fitting by hand to make it a little bit of a longer bend which will enable it to clear the rear edge of the compressor at the downward angle the manifold ridge forces it to point. The aluminum fitting is beefy but with a strong pull it can be manipulated slightly without warping or buckling.

That's pretty much the last piece of info I was waiting for.... so.... I'm planning on opening up payment options tomorrow. I think I'll need a minimum of 8 people to pay before I can start ordering things. 8 payments doesn't nearly clear what I've got to order, but that amount will make me comfortable enough to put everything on my credit card ;)
Hoping to place all my orders on Monday so I can get this show on the road!

I'll post details tomorrow.

Thanks gnictry!

that is all

but on a serious note, which version manifolds? 99-00 or 01-02? (I'm not even sure that it'll matter that much but why not...one has EGR)

Ill ask gnictry to stop by and confirm but I'm pretty sure hers is the 99-00 version. Her's definitely has EGR which is the part in the casting that 'may' need to be ground down a little. That would mean the 01-02 folks should be in the clear.

You are correct they are 2000 manifolds.

Any idea if it's still possible to pull exhaust headers/manifolds without removing AC lines given how they are routed?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I would think the easiest way would be to drop them out of the bottom. Worst case you could unbolt the compressor with the lines still charged and move it forward and up to give yourself more clearance.

*Update #2*

I'm going to be in blackout for a few hours as I'm driving to Nashville for my 1st anniversary with my wife. Tomorrow is the anniversary so communication will be patchy or at least limited to when I can sneak out a message or two without my wife catching me ;)

Thanks for everyone who's paid. I've got enough now to insure that everything gets ordered on Monday.

For those of you who haven't heard from me or are waiting for a reply. Please bear with me.

Thanks again
Lane

Alright. I'm finally back home from my mini anniversary trip, so my communication should get a LOT better.

As of now I should have PM'd everybody who's expressed interest in this GB with payment info or a list of what I need to work for you. If you think you've somehow slipped through the cracks, please PM me.

Thanks goes out to all the people who have gotten their payments in. I anticipate making all of my orders before lunch tomorrow. All of my venders have estimated a week or less lead times on the parts I need. As long as nothing has changed on their end that should still be accurate. After I receive the parts it will only take ~1 week for me to build everything and get it in the mail. I'll be sure to update this thread with any relevant info

Thanks again!
