I scrubbed and scrubbed these carpets and this is as good as it gets. I was really hoping they'd turn out better. Maybe I'll rent a steamer or look into fabric dye.

Cleaned up the engine compartment a bit.

This really ticks me off, but I'm in no mood to do another wire tuck. Grrrrrrrrrr.  ::)

Me and another member here had the same looking engine bay and we used a rattle can for the lower parts. I think I used a chrysler color. Anyways, you should definitely do another wire tuck. I wish I had on mine, but I do plan to go back over it.

Yeah, I was going to ask about a matching color for the engine compartment. Red has to be tough to match.

Wire tuck...forget it!

Why don't you make a trip down here and do it for me. Air conditioned shop, plenty of Pepsi... ;)

Trust me, you wouldn't want me to!

Here is how mine ended up. Looks like it was a chrysler color.

I pulled the A/C box out, gutted it and sealed the holes up:

Removed the clutch and brake pedal and installed an automatic brake pedal:

I HATE these things, with a passion.

I cut them out on my last build. This time I used a spot weld remover, (thank you for the suggestion Blake) and it's still a major pain laying under the car while drilling out the spot welds, prying the mounts off and grinding down the welds. What a nasty job, but it's done. I'll seal it up with POR-15.

2004R is finished. I order the master rebuild kit from Chris at CK Performance, (highly recommend their service) with their shift kit, billet servo and forward drum. I got rid of the trans-brake since I wouldn't be using it enough.

Well, we'll see once it's in. I hate that it's going to sit for quite awhile, but that's the way it needs to be. The last LSX Rx-7 I built was built with a deadline and that took way too much time away from my WIfe and kids. I'll always regret that. Anyway, no deadline on this one and there's lots to do with the family!  :D I figure it won't be too many years until the kids won't want to do much with me, so I'll get as much as I can in now.

I wanted to do more with this tranny build, but $$ did not allow. I just hope it works well when I put it in.

Thank you for all your help Blake.

When I saw you selling a few parts in the classifieds I thought you were selling the project. It's good to see some progress!

My plates showed up last week. I'm very disappointed they are no longer stamped. It's simply a printed tag.  ::)

Need to get my "1SLOW7" plates ordered one of these days.

Well here it is towards the end of April and I just can't get a thing done on my build.

Blake has taken over at this point and his progress is nothing short of amazing.

Here I am loading up the TII to head to IN:
