Harbor Freight Toolbox
« on: June 07, 2010, 09:51:51 PM »
Well I lucked out and have a harbor frieght store right here in Fayetteville....went down there today to check out the 90320 45" tool box and got suckered in.

$399 minus 20% discount came to right around $340 with tax...plus no shipping charges.

It seems to be a great toolbox for my needs....any one else have one?

While I don't have the toolchest, I do have a few hand tools as well as impact gun/sockets from them. I have no complaints on them. I have little money to spend on the big name tools, and they serve their purpose for me just fine.

Yea as much as I would love a SO or MAC box, I just cant justify it for my hobby needs....I honestly would struggle justifying it for "professional" needs.

This box is ball bearing and shuts nice.  I have all my air tools and some other junk (Grinder etc) in my bottom deep drawer (probably about 100lbs) and it slides as easy as the empty ones....

I'll be listening to how you like this...      I really, really need a box, and that price sounds like a win for my not-even-close-to-a-professional uses.   :)

i have one of the big ones...not sure how much i got it for since it was so long ago....i like how easy it is to open and close...not quite as smooth as my old snap-on but it's still pretty nice....the only complaint i have about it was that i had left one of my wrench drawers open over night and the weight was enough to bend it slightly....so now it likes to slowly open constantly

I've been eyeballing that box for a long time.... I thought about putting it in my enclosed trailer when I was racing quads but never did.

I have it in black (and pimp gold handles) with the top and side box. It's great.

I looked at everything, nothing compared for the price. I've had it for two years now with zero complaints. Worth every penny.

I use their tools all the time. I buy their cheap stuff and if I use it often enough to break it, I replace it with Snappy or MAC.

Though due to the economy I no longer have a MAC guy on my route and am accumulating a pile of broken tools that need replaced.  >:(

Go ahead and try to ruin your first toolbox. If you use it enough to NEED another box, plan on spending more money.
FWIW I have 3 snappy boxes, 1 mac box, 1 mac cart and 1 cornwell cart. I paid well under 2k for all of them combined. They were all purchased used. The oldest has been in my possession for 18 years.

I think we had a page on the other forum of good tools to buy from Harbor Freight and Tool not to buy from there. So you give this box a thumbs up?

I definatley give it a thumbs up so far...more to follow as I finsh putting stuff away.  My heaviest drawer right now is my "deep" drawer which is holding my air tools, grinders etc and it moves easy even with some significant weight in it.

The toolbox is heavily constructed too....it is heavier duty than the craftsman boxes I looked at over the last few years.

I have a stainless box from Costco.  I didn't see it on their site last time I checked, so they may have different ones now.  Its been a good box.  I load the upper part into the van when I go to the track.

(not my pic, just found it in a google image search)

post a link to the HF so we know which one is good.  There can be big discrepencies in quality depending on what line you buy.
